When we where last in Florence in 2013 it was decided that we would go to the Galileo Museum and not the Uffizi as there were too long of lines and not everybody was keen to look at paintings. Thus when we came back to Florence I was determined to go. I pre-bought my ticket online as to avoid the longest of the lines (yes there were others… more on that later) the day we arrived in Florence as to not be disappointed.

Friday afternoon was going to be my time; Henrik was working and I was on my own to explore the sites that he had no interest in visiting. I did a tour around the Piazza del Duomo, smelled countless products in the Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella (the most beautiful perfume shop/pharmacy in Florence), and of course spent a glorious two hours in the Uffizi Gallery surrounded by priceless Botticellis and golden Giottos.
