To show her appreciation for all of the help given to her over the course of her move, my mother-in-law treated Henrik and I plus my sister-in-law Annika and brother-in-law Jonas to a weekend away and a spa treatment at the Ystad Saltsjöbad. Two days of salty sea air, hot saunas, wonderful wines and exceptional food. There is really no way to fully describe the awesome and relaxing time the four of us had.
We had access to the sea-side Salt Creek Spa from mid-day on Saturday until mid-day Sunday. In this time period we took full advantage of the multiple pools, saunas and opulent relaxation rooms.
On Saturday, Henrik and I opted for the Sauna Chill treatment while Annika and Jonas had the Creek Experience treatment. Before dinner, we met for a glass of cava (Spanish sparkling wine) in the Art Deco bar and drank from Gatsby-inspired champagne goblets and described our relaxation adventures.
The Creek Experience sounded lovely with different types of cleaning rituals and mineral pools. Henrik and my Sauna Chill consisted of a guided 5 part sauna session. Between each ever increasing heat session we cooled ourselves down in a 20 second icy shower. It was an amazing experience. We also enjoyed an early morning yoga session on the end of the dock.
If you are ever in Southern Sweden do yourself a favour and go – the rooms are a little on the small side but you do not spend barely any time in them.
Enjoy the photos.
