First off… May the Fourth Be with You…

It seems that I may have caught a slight case of the sniffles. Not to worry though, I am not going to let it keep me from exploring this lovely town. I am however, going to slow down my pace a little. Now most days we are forced to participate in the mid-day rest, as many of the shops are closed from 1pm to 4:30pm, but lately we have been actually having a little nap during this time. This practice may help me overcome this potential cold (fingers crossed).

Needless to say, I did very little today. With a late start we did not leave the house until after lunch. We ventured to the closest public beach to see if it was a place that we could spend a bit of time. While it was nice, we figured that the one a little ways out of town was probably worth the effort; especially if the photos we found online are indeed true. Thus the search for the appropriate mode of transportation was on. We found that the bus was our best option, but alas not tomorrow as the whole city is engulfed in the start of the Giro d’Italia. Therefore, tomorrow’s beach plans have turned into a more stay in town and soak in the energy plan. We will make our way down to the waterfront and hopefully catch a glimpse of the start along with who knows how many other people.

Anyhow, back to today… aka my very lazy day. We got back from our beach scouting mission and Henrik wanted to take a swim before he started working. My nap would have to wait a little. Once he returned, I went under for about an hour, rousing once the shops had opened back up again so that I could go out and procure some parmesan cheese for our pesto dinner tonight.

The roses on our balcony beckon me to stop and smell them… hint hint.
