After the longest bus ride of my entire life we arrived at the train station in Copenhagen. It was an overnight trip, so we were fully prepared to be a wee bit uncomfortable however, what was supposed to be a 13 hour ride turned into a 16 hour fiasco. I am not even going to mention about halfway through the toilet broke… I had a beer at dinner… 16 hours…UGH.

It started out promising. We left Rotterdam on time and had a very pleasant driver. However, after about 3 hours an announcement was made that he was going to leave us and at the next stop two other drivers would take us the rest of the way. It was getting late and most of the passengers were attempting to get some sleep. When our new drivers arrived, they made it nearly impossible as they chatted the whole rest of the way (I am NOT kidding; the whole way). They also spoke pretty loudly as they had to be heard over the sound of the engine. This was not only disrespectful to the passengers but it also distracted the person driving the bus on multiple occasions. There was a break slamming incident, a red light running incident and there were more than a few wrong turns made along the trip.
FYI – my father was a bus driver so I have some experience on buses and feel qualified to making the above comments.

In Copenhagen we boarded the first train into Sweden and after a short and very predicable train ride we were in Lund. And since we were only one day late for Midsummer, we decided to celebrate. We had strawberries and cream for dessert and that night Me and He got to sleep in a real bed. The next day we ventured out the coastal town of Kåseberga for herring sandwiches and a visit to Ales stenar. This 1400-year-old monument is in the shape of a ship, made up of 59 large stones and perched on the top of a hill. It was very windy that day but the sun was out and we were happy to be with family.
