I have a wee fear of heights…
Most of the time it really does not bother me. However, atop Mount Etna, there it was. The steep sides of the volcano had this beautiful loose black stone that was absolutely terrifying to walk over, I stayed clear of the edges but my sweet, fearless husband did not. I tried to keep calm as I watched other people in tennis shoes scramble up the cliff. If they could do it; I could do it.

There was really only one instance where I may have dropped my calm facade. We were at the top and our wonderful guide Alessandro from Etna Experience Excursions wanted to take a photo of us posed on the side of the cliff. Nope…nope…nope.

Our guide wanted us to pose near the edge of the cliff…Ummmm nope. We are instead perched on some wonderful lava formations.
